Let's kick off 2022 with a Boom — the 5th Annual IndieBoom Film + Music Festival! Short films in all genres and original songs will stream 100% free Jan. 1 -16 on our website, our Roku and Fire TV apps, Vimeo, and Bandcamp. Creators use social media to promote, then we give awards to the titles with the most plays in each category — including cash grand prizes for the most-streamed film and song of the festival. Our Screenplay competition awards writers valuable prizes from our industry partners InkTip, Roadmap Writers, and Virtual Pitchfest. Please join us in congratulating our 2021/22 Official Selections! FILMS: 925 Blues Lyric Video Music Video, USA | Directed by Spring Brooks "I recorded 925 Blues with my former coworker, Hector Espinoza, back when I worked at Tremor Video in NYC. 925 Blues is about that homesick feeling you get when you have to leave the house and go to work, especially during the cozy season. I know first-hand the challenge of trying to balance work and life. I also know the most mundane tasks can induce creativity. The 925 Blues Lyric Video was created with Powerpoint and iMovie. It was fun to experiment and get creative with office tools. There are gems everywhere." A Blaster In The Right Hands: A Star Wars Story Fan Film, Australia | Directed by Richard de Carvalho On the trail of a crashed Imperial Shuttle, two bounty hunters collide over a valuable cargo, only to discover they’re not the only hired guns around. "A Blaster in The Right Hands - A Star Wars Story", is a non-profit unofficial fan-film that is not intended for commercial use produced by Lunacraft Productions. Star Wars is owned by Lucasfilm/Disney and this fan-film is not connected in any way to said companies. All We Have Documentary, USA | Directed by Matt Battaglia The pandemic lockdowns have taken their toll on mom and pop shops across the country. For Schnitzel Haus in Brooklyn, NY, it’s been a year of mandated closures, reduced capacity, dwindling sales, and more regulations than ever before. The family-owned restaurant struggles to stay open amidst so many hurdles. In the Bay Ridge community where Schnitzel Haus resides, the lockdowns have brought the bustling music scene to a halt, and affected the livelihoods of people in many walks of life. All We Have is the story of a small business in a big city that has been turned upside down by the coronavirus lockdowns. BioPetz Comedy, USA| Directed by Tyler Council “BioPetz” are cuddly, curious abominations of nature and science that need a loving home before the government shuts this whole operation down. Carnivale Music Video, USA| Directed by Wikka Set a few months after her first visual album “Cirque,” Wikka the Clown grieves the loss of her beloved Petunia. After a year of sorrow and solitude, she discovers that her old friend, Charlie the Mime, is still alive - and needs to be saved from the clutches of the evil Ringmaster! Wikka must assemble her team of misfits to defeat him and his band of bloodthirsty villains. Coyote Tears Music Video, USA | Directed by Ron Longo, Craig Clement "When I wrote “Coyote Tears”, I wanted to capture a story of a young man that breaks away from his family in anger after they were torn apart by the recent disgusting political mayhem. But there are so many reasons this can happen- conflict over life choices, life styles, religious beliefs, etc. Not all young coyotes stay with the pack…many times there is too much conflict and they must leave and start a new life on their own." Elimination Strain Horror/Thriller, USA | Directed by Christopher Wells A masked psychopath terrorizes a young couple through eerie text images, then appears inside their home, forcing them to fight for their lives. This is a proof of concept and will become a feature film. I Can Only Sabotage My Self Sabotage Animation, Experimental Music Video, USA | Directed by Stanzii "Self Sabotage" is one of three kaleidoscopic, cyber-chic animated films--part of a triptych that reflects love, loss, and an urgent, post-pandemic need for me: to make art after a time when it felt impossible. Featuring original music produced, mixed and mastered by David Sisko under his Aelien Eko moniker, the triptych also serves as a preview of the upcoming arrival of my sculpture work, slated for next year.
