We’re in the middle of an indie boom.

Creators all over the world are breaking the old rules and making work on their own terms. IndieBoom is a platform designed to support artists, and engage fans… by turning viewing and listening into a game. Filmmakers and musicians use social media to drive audience to their work!

How does IndieBoom work?

FOR FILMS AND VIDEOS:

• Each Official Selection is linked to our Vimeo Pro account, with its description and social links, to make promotion to your network — and beyond — easy and fun. 
• The selection with the most time viewed in each category (Comedy, Drama, etc.) wins laurels and a Digital Certificate.
• The selection with the most time viewed overall wins our Grand Prize: A handmade trophy and some official IndieBoom merch!

FOR SONGS:

• Each Official Selection streams free on our Bandcamp page, and we keep track of its stats.
• Our Top 5 songs can remain on our site for sale after the festival, with revenue going to the artists.
• The piece of music with the most listens on our Bandcamp page wins our Grand Prize: A handmade trophy and some official IndieBoom merch!

​Films, series, media and music are always FREE for audience, and every stream is a vote. 

IndieBoom is designed for creators.

Created by the team at the award winning Art of Brooklyn Film Festival,​ IndieBoom is for everyone everywhere. Filmmakers, musicians, screenwriters working in all short-form formats and genres are welcome. 

What's eligible for IndieBoom?

• Films, videos, and songs in all genres, from any year. Content can already be available online. As long as it runs no longer than 40 minutes and you created it, it's eligible. See our main categories and rules here.

* What we won’t program: 
Any content filmed or recorded without the subject’s consent, pornographic material, extreme graphic violence, racist or misogynistic works, videos showing the mistreatment of animals, videos of actual bullying or violence.

IndieBoom is always free for audiences. Every stream is a vote!

• IndieBoom is an interactive competition! We give you the tools to help you promote your film to your networks and increase your fanbase. The most-viewed film in each category (Comedy, Sci-Fi, Doc, Fan Film, etc) wins its laurels. And the song with the most streams wins.  We keep track of overall time viewed for each Selection. (So just refreshing a web page over and over won't help you win.) ​​

IndieBoom is for short-form films and videos (up to 40 minutes long) in all genres, and original songs. No restrictions on date of completion or online status.
